Assistant Chef

Responsibilities

  • Preparing food
  • Cooking under supervision of head chef and alone
  • Assisting head chef in maintaining high standards of hygiene in the kitchen
  • Deputising for head chef on days off
  • Covering other kitchen staff on days off
  • Assisting in other areas of the hotel on changeover days
  • Help with other hotel and resort duties as required by the manager

Minimum requirements

  • Honesty and integrity
  • No criminal record
  • Previous cooking experience, and enthusiasm for cooking
  • Knowledge of health and food hygiene procedures
  • Flexible
  • Cheerful and outgoing
  • Smart conventional appearance
  • Positive team member
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • The employee will be required to provide:
    One set of chef's whites
  • Contribution towards cost of uniform
